Welcome to SChWiNG HQ at a secret location deep in the Reikland forest.

It's from here that I, Buzz'r Grishnak, the society's secretary and sole paid member of staff am planning to keep records of those Bloodbowl coaches who've done sterling service in promoting the use of low down, underhand mechanically assisted cheating on the pitch.

Making its debut at Carrot Crunch III, the SChWiNG award rewards the coach who scored the most casualties using chainsaws, bombs and stabbing over the course of their tournament games. The society would be delighted if organisers of other tournaments were to adopt "The SChWiNG" as a prize category and the society will happily provide a lovely certificate for them to present to the most devious and underhanded coach.

What's with those shipping costs - sheesh! Sorry, but they're outside our control - one way
to minimise the impact is to put in a group order if you can and split the postage between you.

Choose your weapons

The Bomb

Raining destruction from above, the bombadier always adds fun to any roster. If using a rostered bomber on a goblin team, consider giving him Hail Mary Pass for that little bit more fun (if doubles are allowed).

The Chainsaw

Usually the most effective SChWiNG weapon, either take the saw to lightly armoured opponents to pretty much guarantee their losing interest in the game or use him to try to take down more heavily armoured opponents.

The Dagger

Of admittedly limited use unless playing low AV teams, a stabber can often be a deterrent to opponents following up pushbacks from the Line of Scrimmage. They sometimes have secondary skills which make the stabbing ability a bonus.

Other valid casualties

The S.Ch.Wi.N.G. award is to reward casualties that don't get counted by the tournament's rules. If a tournament excludes casualties caused by fouls, crowd surfing or ball & chain then these should also count when determining that tournament's top SChWiNGer.

The stars

Bombardiers

Bomber Dribblesnot

Cost
60,000gp
Skills
Loner, Accurate, Bombardier, Dodge, Right Stuff, Secret Weapon, Stunty.
Will play for
Goblin, Ogre or Orc
Why hire him?
Accurate extends his theoretical passing range by 1 band to allow a Short Pass on a 4+ while Right Stuff lets you get him 6 squares closer before throwing his bomb.

Boomer Eziasson

Cost
60,000gp
Skills
Loner, Accurate, Block, Bombadier, Secret Weapon, Thick Skull
Will play for
Dwarf, Norse
Why hire him?
All the fun of bombs coupled with AV9 and Block. Accurate offsets his low agility, but keep his throws to Quick Pass range unless you're really lucky with dice.

Looneys

Flint Churnblade

Cost
130,000gp
Skills
Loner, Block, Chainsaw, Secret Weapon, Thick Skull.
Will play for
Dwarf
Why hire him?
He's got a chainsaw! Even if it kicks back on him, his armour's only broken on a 7+ and then his Thick Skull has a good chance of keeping him on the pitch.

Hack Enslash

Cost
120,000gp
Skills
Loner, Chainsaw, Regeneration, Secret Weapon, Side step.
Will play for
Khemri, Necromantic, Undead
Why hire him?
Best coupled with a bribe (otherwise his Regeneration's of no benefit), Enslash's side step can make him a rather deadly thorn in your opponent's side and keep him next to a target if an opponent's trying to push him away.

Helmut Wulf

Cost
110,000gp
Skills
Loner, Chainsaw, Secret Weapon, Stand Firm
Will play for
Amazon, Human, Lizardman, Norse, Slann and Vampire
Why hire him?
Hmm. Tough call. With no Block or Dodge and only AV7, Helmut may not last long on the pitch - his Stand Firm is useful if an opponent's only trying to push him away, though.

Max Spleenripper

Cost
130,000gp
Skills
Loner, Chainsaw, Secret Weapon
Will play for
Chaos, Nurgle
Why hire him?
Not the fastest or hardiest of chainsaw wielders but his Strength of 4 will give him some protection against revenge blocks. He's the same price as a mercenary Chaos Warrior and cheaper than a merc Nurgle Warrior.

Nobbla Blackwart

Cost
130,000gp
Skills
Loner, Block, Dodge, Chainsaw, Secret Weapon, Stunty
Will play for
Chaos Dwarf, Goblin, Ogre and Underworld
Why hire him?
Hire him if you like the idea of a chainsaw that only gets knocked down on a POW who can walk into a cage on a 3+. What's not to like?

Ugroth Bolgrot

Cost
100,000gp
Skills
Loner, Chainsaw, Secret Weapon
Will play for
Chaos Pact and Orc
Why hire him?
He's remarkably cheap for an AV9 chainsaw.

Stabbers

Hemlock

Cost
170,000gp
Skills
Loner, Block, Dodge, Side Step, Jump Up, Stab, Stunty
Will play for
Lizardman, Slann
Why hire him?
Block + Dodge + Side Step + Jump Up + Stunty is an awesome combination of skills. Opponents only have a 1 in 6 chance of knocking him down (unless they have Tackle or Wrestle) and even if they do, if he survives the armour roll he's back on his feet on a 2+ to stab again next turn. His Stuntiness lets him stroll into a cage to stab a lightly armoured ball carrier.

Horkon Heartripper

Cost
210,000gp
Skills
Loner, Dodge, Leap, Multiple Block, Shadowing, Stab
Will play for
Dark Elf
Why hire him?
Have him leap into a cage and stab both the ball carrier and one of his protectors in one turn. If the stab fails, he can shadow them as they try to escape.

Rashnak Backstabber

Cost
200,000gp
Skills
Loner, Dodge, Side Step, Sneaky Git, Stab
Will play for
Chaos Dwarf
Why hire him?
He has dual capability as a stabber or fouler, so gives you two options to get rid of opponents.

Sinnedbad

Cost
80,000gp
Skills
Loner, Block, Jump Up, Pass Block, Regeneration, Secret Weapon, Side Step, Stab
Will play for
Khemri, Undead
Why hire him?
He's cheap (because he'll only last 1 drive) but the Side step and Jump Up helps him stay close to the action while Pass Block lets him give catchers something to worry about. Due to his low price and regeneration, a bribe gives you two drives of stabby fun for just 180,000gp.

Skitter Stab-Stab

Cost
160,000gp
Skills
Loner, Dodge, Prehensile Tail, Shadowing, Stab
Will play for
Skaven, Underworld
Why hire him?
He's fast enough to make his Shadowing a real pain - and his prehensile tail will make getting away even more difficult.

Zara the Slayer

Cost
270,000gp
Skills
Loner, Block, Dauntless, Dodge, Jump Up, Stab, Stakes
Will play for
Amazon, Dwarf, Halfling, High Elf, Human, Norse, Wood Elf
Why hire her?
She's strong and Dauntless lets her take on Big Guys with impunity even without her stakes. Against Khemri, Necro, Undead and Vampires she can quickly give you numerical advantage by taking out the AV7 guys on a 7+ - especially annoying when taking down Ghouls or Thralls who can't regenerate or to get skeletons with ball handling skills off the pitch.
